Welcoming Our Heroes
Savannah Salutes, Inc. is a non-profit organization created to recognize the efforts and sacrifices of America’s Military Service Personnel.
The Savannah Salutes Lounge is a welcome center for our traveling military, including active duty, reserve or retired members of the US Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. It is located on Level 2 of Savannah/Hilton Head International; in Savannah Square, and outside of the security screening area.
This welcome center has comfortable seating, reading materials, television, internet access, and some concessions. It’s open 7 days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m, when there is a volunteer on duty. The lounge will be secured when there are no volunteers.
This facility is entirely administered and run by volunteers. It depends on donations to purchase snacks, drinks, and other amenities. It is not affiliated with the USO.
Eligibility
To utilize the lounge, identification is required to prove eligibility. Suitable identification includes a Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs Identification Card. For veterans, having Veteran status on a state-issued Driver’s License is also acceptable.

All volunteers are required to use VicNet to schedule and track their volunteer hours. VicNet is a free app available for iPhone and Android phones. Every new volunteer must shadow an experienced volunteer before they are allowed to schedule their own shifts.
